Tradition of the upazila

Geography and geographical location of Meghna Upazila has played a role in shaping the language and culture of the people of this upazila. Located in the southeastern part of Bangladesh, this upazila is surrounded by the Indian state of Tripura, Dhaka Division and other upazilas of Chittagong Division. The main features of the language are the same as in other upazilas of Bangladesh, but there is some variation. For example, in spoken language, mahapranadhvani is largely absent, i.e. there is a tendency to simplify the language. Adjacent to the regional language of Debidwar Upazila, Brahmanbaria and Dhaka have a lot in common. Experts believe that the nature of the Meghna-Gomti river and the behavior, eating habits, language and culture of the people of Debidwar at the foot of Lalmai hill have been greatly influenced.
